We learned about Seals and Orcas. The kids learned facts about Seals, colored a picture of a seal and fed it fish, and balanced shapes on their nose like a seal. Then we learned about weighing things by holding a stuffed animal orca in one hand and objects in the other to see which was heavier. They practiced movements like an orca whale. The painted an orca and danced to the "Orca, Orca" song. The practiced writing the number one and counting to the number ten.
Thursday:We learned about Dolphins, Platypus, and Valentines activities. We read a book about a goat and a note and then made Valentine notes for the moms. We then learned about platypus, colored a platypus puppet, danced to a platypus song, and practiced balancing and other movements. We also learned about dolphins by mimicking noises they make, learning how they live in families and drawing pictures of their families, talking about how their skin feels and different animals that have fur. They then decorated their Valentines bags for the party.
