Week One!

{Tuesday, September 6}

We talked about what each day of preschool will be like and went through all of the parts of Circle Time. The theme this month is "My Amazing Body".

Projects/Activities:
-We read "What I Like About Me" book and talked about the things they like about themselves.
-We made a puppet that looked like them.
-We played Body Bingo.
-We matched this month's colors- pink and brown.
-We learned about this month's shape, the circle, by drawing it in the air and then in their journals.
-We learned about this month's letter- P by practicing the sound and talking about words that start with P.
-We talked about eyes and colored an eye that is the same color as their own.
-We talked about noses and smell. We made a pattern of good and bad smells and read a book about them.
-We had orange circles and crackers for snack because they were both circles.

Projects/Activities:
-We had show'n'tell with things that are circles. (soccer ball, yo gabba gabba toy with one circle eye, an orange, a sidewalk chalk holder, and a mirror.)
-We talked about eyes (sight), ears (hearing), and noses (smell).
-We made a see and shake puppet and danced to music with them.
-We practiced writing the letter P.
-We talked about this month's color pink and colored with pink crayons.
-We played a game where each child took turn hiding the pink bird and the others had to find it.
-We looked in a mirror and drew self portraits. I loved this!
-We played a what do you see? game.
-We practiced this month's shape, the circle, by making shapes and matching circles.
-We sang a song about being quiet and loud.
-We learned how a megaphone amplifies your voice so others can hear you better and made a megaphone.
-We learned what it means to be polite and practices sneezing into our elbows and saying "Bless You" when someone else sneezes.
-We sang a song about a stinky skunk.
-We made popcorn for snack and listened for the "P" sound while it was popping.
